Running a small business, especially one that serves other small businesses, is an extraordinary challenge. It's one I happen to love, but there's no question that on most days it's an up-hill slog.
But there are moments that can make you smile.
I just had one of those moments, and I think I'll be smiling all day over this one. All week, maybe. I won't have the beautiful smile of either of the two people in front in this picture, but it will be pretty good.
Here's the story:
One of our very first writers, the amazing Ruth Bremer, (the one on the right) had never been a published writer before she found Blogmutt. She was a fantastic writer, but just had never been paid.
She worked (like a dog, natch) for Blogmutt clients, and the result was not only that she got to realize her dream of being a paid writer, she got to finance the deposit for a trip that she'd dreamed of taking for years.
Her extremely well written account of all that is here. It's worth reading a couple of times, as are her posts about her trip.
I'm really just so blown away. Wade and I knew we'd build a positive, encouraging business, but we had no idea that we'd play a part in changing lives in this way. It's humbling and exhilarating all at once, and it makes us want to dig in and work even harder to reach every underserved business blog, and every writer yearning for a chance to write professionally.
And just maybe change the world, just a little bit.
Thank you so much, Ruth, for so much inspiration, and thanks to all the Blogmutt customers and writers for making all this possible.
